Sheihul Mufliheen M.S.M Abdullah (Rah)

Sheihul Mufliheen M.S.M. Abdullah (Rah), a renowned Sufi saint was born on 25th July, 1925 in Naipattimunai, a village in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. He then moved to an adjacent village called Maruthamunai and lived there until his demise. He was a teacher by profession and in the latter years engaged in various other vocations.

He developed a keen interest in the search of truth at the age of 10, awoken to the truth at the age of 28 and attained self-realization at the age of 35 years old. In the process of searching the truth, he confronted with contradictions in the Quran. He once tore the Quran, spat on it and put it aside. Thereafter, he happened to come across a small piece of paper with a note left by a child of Swami Vivekananda on the road that said all religions are based on the same principle but interpolated according to the whims and fancies of those of self interest. He intensively researched on the Quran and various other religious books and at last found that Quran is the only true religious book that contained revelations to guide humanity to attain peace and tranquility. He regretted for his attitude towards the Quran and virtually carried it on his head for the rest of his life.

From the day he attained peace and self-realization, he proclaimed the true meaning of “Kalima - La Ilahi Illallah, There is nothing, but Allah (God). He fought many legal battles to establish this truth with various Wahabi elements that refuted this fact and resorted to violence and intimidation. He became victorious in the end. He was actively involved in propagating this truth to the world until his demise in the year 2006. He authored many books to establish this truth and composed 181 spiritual songs.
